Founded in 1926 as the first of the university's graduate professional schools, the Divinity School attracts students from across the nation and around the world. Duke Initiatives in Theology & the Arts Duke Initiatives in Theology and the Arts (DITA) promotes a vibrant engagement of Christian theology and the arts at Duke Divinity School and beyond. DITA is directed by Jeremy Begbie, Thomas A. Langford Research Professor of Theology. Center for Theology, Writing & Media The Center for Theology, Writing & Media at Duke Divinity School promotes the role of writing within the life of the church and the formation of its ministry. Through its work, we hope to strengthen theological interpretation, teaching, preaching and communication both at the seminary level and throughout the church. Art of Duke Divinity Duke Divinity School commissioned more than a dozen works of art, all based in Scripture, to be incorporated into Goodson Chapel and the Westbrook building, both of which opened in 2005. The Nasher Museum of Art The Nasher Museum of Art at Duke University fosters the understanding and appreciation of the visual arts by providing direct experiences with original works of art supported by a range of exhibitions, programs and publications for the university and the broader community. The museum draws on the intellectual resources of a great research university and serves as a laboratory of the arts dedicated to multidisciplinary approaches to learning. Blogs

Christians in the Visual Arts (CIVA) Christians in the Visual Arts exists to explore and nurture the relationship between the visual arts and the Christian faith. Founded in 1979, CIVA first met to consider the place of the Christian artist in the church and in the world-at-large. The success of this initial gathering led CIVA to establish a vision for activities which are now making an impact in a variety of ways. Books
